Hrand, an Armenian shepherd

A little village near Lake Sevan, Armenia

The early morning round up.. Hrand gathers everyones sheep in the village to head up to the mountains to graze.

ANd the afternoon fog rolls in …

the time has come to head down the mountain to return the sheep to their homes. They have spent almost the entire day grazing on the hills.

Their owners await them and help Direct them back where they belong. Hrand’s wife joins in and helps as well.

During the winter season when he doesn’t work as a shepherd he works as a blacksmith, making various things such as horseshoes and iron windows. He has a small workshop in his home, where he lives with his wife, children and grandchildren.
