Spending a few hours with Len, I found that he admits to three things, which basically describe how he enjoys living. Those were…“I drink too much, I smoke too much, and I paint too much.” Directly quoted from Len himself, he hasn’t given up his passion of painting. Every morning Len wakes up, wanders off to his garden, and paints. And above that he is still very active in the art world. Once a month, precisely the second Thursday of the month, Len attends the Downtown Art Walk, in Downtown, Los Angeles. He is a resident artist at one of the galleries there and can be seen, seated in the back room that features his work, speaking with visitors.
Len also hasn’t given up on his social life. He is always out mingling in L.A. and dancing with beautiful young women. He enjoys life and spending time with friends and family. Because of his vivacious character people are instantly drawn to him. Being around Len is quite inspiring, especially after knowing his story.
Len is the former CEO and Co-founder of Aaron Brothers Art Mart, an art supply and frame store. He started the company with his brother Al. “We each put $50 down and started a business,” says Aaron. The two brothers started selling frames out of the back of their Model A Ford upon arrival in Los Angeles. They were in the wholesale business buying frames and then selling them. Currently 94 years old, Len is a salesman at heart who began painting full-time after selling his company, Aaron Brothers, in 1996.
